YOUR BRAIN ON ALCOHOL

What is Vivitrol?

Vivitrol is an extended-release, injectable version of the drug naltrexone used to treat alcohol and/ or opioid dependence. Vivitrol works best when used in conjunction with a well rounded addiction treatment program that includes psychotherapy and social supports. The drug is designed to reduce the cravings of those who have already quit drinking and to help those who are in recovery to avoid relapse by blocking the effects of opiate drugs.

How Vivitrol Works:

Video above shows how Vivitrol works in the body to block opioids and alcohol. Recovery is possible with combination treatment with the Vivitrol Injection, counseling and support.
